It's A Hard Knock Life

Race report from last weekends JSCC rounds at Knockhill.🏁

Firstly a huge thanks to Adam Kluj Transport Services and especially Barbara 💚, making the big drive up north with us for the weekend. Also big thanks to my partners Nurburgring Tours and Arthur Morgan Kitchens, without your support I simply wouldn't be racing 🤝💞 And thanks also to Ashley for the help and advice preparing myself for this one 🤜🤛🏁

A different start to the weekend this time where we started the three practice sessions in the evening, one clockwise and two anticlockwise to prepare for the first qualifying session on Saturday morning. A tricky circuit in either direction and I managed to have my first trip into the gravel trap 🤭. Needed more time on the reverse circuit really, so started race one from the back, made a good start and getting more confident with the layout, I got myself up into a good position before taking a hit on the rear, giving me my second trip into the gravel,...this time managed to get moving and rejoined, albeit dead last. Luckily not much damage to the car, and had enough pace to avoid being lapped by the leaders.

Much more comfortable with Sunday mornings' clockwise qualifying. Managed P17 in a close field with just three seconds covering the whole grid. Held my position for a good part of the race, but a small mistake into the last corner left me vulnerable for the start of the next lap and I lost a couple of places to finish race 2 P19 in some crazy temperatures.☀️🥵

Finished confident about the next round at Croft, weekend 6th/7th August, after I had enjoyed some good clean battles in each race, learned a lot more about the car, and sure that if I had a second visit to Knockhill I could do much better, it's a great circuit to drive. Thanks to our awning mates Team Adam, Joel, and Heap for another enjoyable, learning weekend in good company.🤗🏁
