JKC race weekend Llandow

Biblical rain this weekend for my first visit to the south Wales Llandow round of JKC where I met up with my mate Jack the Supercar kid, who I haven't seen for such a long time. Arrived late on Friday so missed a day of practice & got straight in driving in both junior classes and trying to learn a new track on Saturday on the really wet surface ready for Qualy. Managed P2 in Prokart, but a little bit disappointed with P8 in Rotax. A very difficult day for everyone... the rain just never stopped & a late night for mum and dad cleaning and prepping both karts and trying to dry all my kit ready for Sunday raceday, which started extremely soggy again after more rain through the night. As soon as we hit the track in the morning the heavens opened again, then it was relentless all day and close to being an abandoned meeting. Visibility was poor on the starts in the spray, and yet another strip down reqd into dry racewear. Big thanks to the organisers in their work on track to keep us racing. Really struggled to find a quick exit on a couple of corners and just couldn't get up to challenge P1 in the Prokart, while the wet tyres quickly deteriorated through the heats. Made progress in the Rotax heats to find myself pushing and defending in a four way battle for P4 behind my xkart teammate Will Young to finish P6 in the final. Finally had a dry track for my first blind run of this track on slicks in the Prokart. Losing time early on to Max Shields, who had run away at the front, I managed to reel him near the end, setting a final fastest lap to get close enough for a last corner move on the brakes, but Max's undercut meant I just missed out on the win by 0.112s as we crossed the line together. Left me P2 in Prokart championship, and tied on points with P3 in Rotax, with JKC visiting Clay Pigeon for the final round later this month. đŸ’Ș🏁

A little bit of luck,.. and some better weather next time please 🙏
